Description

A pink Cadillac lunges out of the darkness like a fever dream, its chrome grille catching the California sun with the arrogance of a bygone era. Shot from above at a vertiginous angle, the composition destabilizes everything. The car seems to float, to fall, to escape gravity and logic at once. Below, the shadow of a stop sign stencils itself onto the asphalt in reverse, an instruction the image itself refuses to obey. There is something deeply cinematic here, somewhere between a David Lynch still and a forgotten album cover, the kind of image that smells like hot pavement and sounds like a V8 engine idling at a red light that never turns green. California as myth, as excess, as a color that shouldn't exist but does.
