Description

Two figures drift close together beneath the surface, their forms nearly merging into one another in the murky, particle-heavy water. Grain and suspended sediment blanket the whole frame, turning the sea into something closer to visual static than clear water, so that both bodies read as soft, dark silhouettes rather than distinct figures — limbs tucked, shapes curled, caught mid-motion in a way that feels weightless and unhurried. There's a genuine sense of suspension here, of bodies held between rising and sinking, moving together rather than alone. Above them the surface breaks into tangled, dark ripples that could pass for storm clouds seen from below, deepening the disorientation. What makes the image work is that closeness — two shapes drifting in tandem through the same fog, their nearness turning what could have been a lonely, murky abstraction into something quietly intimate instead.
