Description

A row of palm trees marches diagonally across the lower half of an otherwise empty, cloudless sky, their thin trunks like a scattered set of exclamation marks descending in height from left to right. The title makes the invisible visible — you can't see wind, but you can see its effect everywhere here, every canopy blown emphatically to one side, fronds streaming out like green flames caught mid-flicker. It's a wonderfully graphic, almost minimalist composition: nothing but trunks, palms, and that flat expanse of saturated cornflower blue taking up two-thirds of the frame, giving the image a real sense of calm scale despite the implied gustiness at ground level. The staggered heights create a loose rhythm across the frame, almost musical, each tree a slightly different note in the same visual phrase, while the uniform lean of every canopy ties the whole row together as a single gesture rather than eight separate trees. Simple, sunny, and completely unfussy — this is summer distilled to its most essential elements: heat, light, and a wind you can feel just by looking.
